Session 2: Racing up a storm

Session two has come (and almost gone) with a bang! This session, our 420 Race Team went to both Boothbay and Harraseeket to compete against other regional programs. At Battle of the Bay, KSEA sailors Max Pulitzer and Oona McPhearson placed fifth amongst 41 competing boats. This was Max’s first 420 regatta!

KSEA sailors placed 5th, 8th, 23rd, 26th and 33rd.

Coaches also took Opti Racer, Hudson Clark, to compete at the MDI Jr. Hospice Regatta, where he learned to helm an RS Tera.

At home, Opti A practiced their upwind sailing – learning how to sail efficiently and close hauled. Today, Opti A and B celebrated a wind party, where sailor’s practiced going fast and de-powering in Peter’s Cove. They concluded their day of heavy wind sailing with some swim time!
