Session 3? There’s nowhere else to be!
Happy Hump Week!
This week marks the official halfway point of another fantastic KSEA Summer! During Week 1 of Session 3, we welcomed many new and returning sailors to the friendly waters of Blue Hill and got plenty of time racing out on the water.
We were met with consistently heavy winds throughout the week, which can be intimidating—especially for those shaking off the rust during their first week back. However, every sailor did an incredible job taking the conditions in stride!
Our 420 Race Team competed in their final (and farthest) regatta of the season: Marblehead Junior Race Week down in Marblehead, MA (see results here). MJRW is widely known as one of the most competitive regattas of the summer, but our team represented KSEA exceptionally well over three full days of racing. The sailors made steady gains in the overall standings throughout the event, with a special shoutout to Maxwell Pulitzer and Oona McPhearson for placing 6th in the competitive 420 Championship fleet!
Upon the 420 Race Team’s return, our afternoon sailors took to the water on Thursday for the Hoppin Cup, our annual distance race! After a big-wind afternoon filled with fast sailing and a few impressive capsizes, everyone showed incredible grit.

To cap off a busy week, our Opti Race Team is traveling today to compete in the Camden Classics Cup Youth Regatta (see results here).
